How you’ll make an impact

 

As Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk, you’ll play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the accounts payable function. Supporting the Finance Manager and mentoring junior team members, you’ll ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of financial data and supplier relationships.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Deputising for the line manager when required to ensure continuity

  • Mentoring and training junior members of the Purchase Ledger team

  • Timely and accurate invoice processing into the DMS system

  • Preparing weekly supplier payments and monthly employee reimbursements

  • Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies

  • Investigating and correcting errors using journals and invoice adjustments

  • Supporting year-end processes and other ad hoc finance tasks

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency

  • Building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business

To be successful in this Senior Purchase Ledger Clerk role in Bristol, you will bring:

 

  • Experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Confidence working with suppliers and internal stakeholders

  • Proficiency in Excel and general finance systems (DMS experience a bonus)

  • AAT qualification or progression towards one (desirable)
