Our client operates within a complex, multi-entity environment and is continuing to strengthen its finance function through process improvement and better use of systems. Based in North West Bristol, this Assistant Management Accountant role offers exposure to group reporting and collaboration.

How you’ll make an impact

• Deliver accurate and timely month-end close in line with group reporting deadlines
• Prepare and post journals to support financial accounting and management accounts
• Review sub-ledger activity and work closely with offshore teams to maintain quality
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
• Support the production of management accounts and month-end reporting packs
• Maintain strong financial control across core accounting processes
• Partner with stakeholders to respond to queries and improve reporting clarity
• Support bank reconciliations and wider transactional accounting activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement across record-to-report processes
• Strengthen documentation and support audit and governance requirements

Why you’re a great fit

Essential

• Experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar role
• Strong understanding of month-end close, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience supporting management accounts preparation
• Confident using Excel and working with finance systems
• Able to manage deadlines and deliver accurate work in a structured environment
• Clear communicator, comfortable working with a range of stakeholders

Desirable

• Experience in a multi-entity or group environment
• Exposure to working with offshore or shared service teams
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar
• Interest in improving processes and strengthening financial control

• £35,000–£42,000 salary
• Hybrid working. 3 days per week in the North West Bristol office

Financial Accountant

Core3 are recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our client on a fixed term contract  basis in the North West of Bristol
This is a hands-on opportunity within a complex business environment where you’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality month-end close and maintaining strong financial control.

Our client is a well-established, complex organisation with a collaborative finance team based in Bristol. They’re focused on strengthening processes, improving consistency and building a finance function that adds real commercial value. You’ll join during a period of positive change, with the opportunity to shape reporting and support better decision-making. As Financial Accountant in Bristol, you’ll work in a hybrid pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

How you’ll make an impact

• Deliver an accurate and timely month-end close in line with reporting deadlines
• Prepare and review journals, ensuring compliance with internal controls
• Produce robust balance sheet reconciliations and resolve issues promptly
• Manage intercompany accounting and investigate reconciling differences
• Oversee fixed assets accounting and maintain the integrity of the asset register
• Support cash management and complete bank reconciliations
• Review transaction processing outputs and provide clear feedback
• Contribute to continuous improvement across financial control processes
• Respond to auditor and stakeholder queries with clarity and professionalism
  
  

Why you’re a great fit

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
• Strong experience in financial accounting within a complex business
• Proven delivery of month-end close, management accounts support and balance sheet control
• Confident using financial systems and advanced Excel
• Clear communicator, able to build relationships across finance and the wider business
