How you’ll make an impact
As Financial Controller, you’ll report into the Head of Commercial Finance and lead a team responsible for financial control, statutory reporting, and management accounts. You’ll also play a key role in budgeting and forecasting, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across the firm. Your focus will be on driving performance through accurate reporting, strong governance, and a proactive approach to business partnering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the production of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements
- Managing the audit process and maintaining relationships with external auditors
- Overseeing monthly management accounts, balance sheet integrity, and statutory compliance
- Leading the annual budgeting cycle and forecasting processes
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide insights and financial analysis to support decision-making
- Owning and developing cashflow reporting and performance dashboards
- Supporting the adoption of business intelligence tools and promoting commercial awareness across the business

You’re a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong experience in financial reporting and audit management. You’ve led teams, influenced senior stakeholders, and thrive in a role where you can combine technical expertise with commercial insight.
You’ll bring:
- Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and financial control
- Experience producing consolidated accounts and managing external audits
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Aderant Expert is a plus
- A curious, proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement
