Billing Team Supervisor

How you’ll make an impact
As Billing Team Supervisor, you will lead a team of Billing Assistants and take ownership of the day to day running of the billing function. You will oversee workflows, support complex billing requirements, and ensure clients receive a consistent, high-quality service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing, coaching, and developing a team of Billing Assistants
- Overseeing workload allocation and ensuring requests are completed within agreed timeframes
- Acting as the escalation point for complex billing enquiries and providing timely solutions
- Coordinating billing activity across the wider finance teams to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Reviewing internal processes and recommending improvements to streamline operations
- Ensuring billing data and client information is accurate, current, and compliant
- Supporting the management of eBilling portfolios and reviewing aged debt where relevant
- Maintaining high standards of billing accuracy, including VAT and fee arrangements
- Managing billing requirements for clients with bespoke arrangements
- Guiding the team through busy periods such as month-end, with a hands-on approach
- Conducting one to ones, performance reviews, and supporting team development
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping prepare for future system upgrades
- Working closely with senior finance leads to resolve issues and deliver high-quality client service

You’ll also bring:
- Experience supervising or mentoring within a billing, revenue or finance operations team
- Strong working knowledge of billing processes and financial controls
- Experience within professional services or a similar environment
- Strong organisation skills and an ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent communication skills with confidence working across all levels of the business
- A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
Desirable:
- Experience with billing or finance systems
- Knowledge of VAT within a billing context
