Billing Assistant (12 month FTC)
Core3 are delighted to partner with a leading international legal business to recruit a fully remote Billing Assistant opportunity on a 12 month fixed term contract. Salary is up to £35,000.

How you’ll make an impact
Working as part of the Billing team, you will play a key role in maintaining billing output and accuracy in a high volume environment, using Elite 3E day to day to deliver bills efficiently and compliantly. Alongside your own workload, you will be someone the wider team can lean on, sharing best practice and helping junior colleagues strengthen their billing process and confidence.
A typical day will include:
- High volume bill production and bill delivery using Elite 3E
- Updating and amending matter data to ensure correct billing, including sourcing missing information
- Resolving billing queries and keeping work moving within agreed SLAs
- Processing proformas, credit notes, reversals, write offs and amendments
- Preparing Excel bill schedules, bordereaux and supporting documentation
- Working to billing guides and templates to ensure compliance with client protocols and VAT treatment
- Handling confidential information in line with data security protocols
- Supporting junior team members where needed, helping them troubleshoot billing issues and improve “right first time” output
- This is a fully remote role with flexibility to structure your day within core hours of 8am to 6pm. You must be able to attend your aligned office (Newport or Birmingham) when requested, with hub days typically twice per year.

Essential:
- Elite 3E experience (clearly evidenced)
- Experience in a high volume billing environment with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable being a go to person for process questions and supporting junior team members when needed (alongside your own billing workload)
- Strong systems skills, particularly Excel, with confidence learning processes quickly
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Comfortable working as part of a team and independently
- Flexible approach and positive mindset
Preferred:
- Legal billing / professional services billing background (helpful but not essential if 3E is strong)
- Knowledge of VAT and billing compliance requirements
- Experience producing schedules, bill packs or client specific supporting documentation
