Accounts Assistant
London | Hybrid (2 days in office) | £35,000 – £40,000 + Study Support
Working with a client we know extremely well to hire an Accounts Assistant into a growing and well-supported finance team.
This role will initially focus on supporting the automation and improvement of the Accounts Payable function, helping move away from manual processes. Once embedded, you’ll quickly broaden into month-end, management accounts, and more commercial finance exposure, offering a clear progression path.

How you’ll make an impact

Support and help drive automation across the Accounts Payable process

Own day-to-day AP activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency

Maintain accurate ledgers, including supplier accounts and bank reconciliations

Prepare weekly payment runs and manage ad hoc payments

Handle supplier queries and complete statement reconciliations

Support Accounts Receivable, including invoicing and credit control

Assist with month-end close, including balance sheet reconciliations

Contribute to cash flow visibility

Work closely with the Finance Manager to improve processes and controls
Why you’re a great fit
Essential
-
Experience in an Accounts Assistant role, with strong AP exposure

Good understanding of double entry, P&L, and balance sheet basics

Confident using Excel and finance systems

Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Desirable

Exposure to Accounts Receivable or credit control
-
Experience supporting month-end and reconciliations

Interest in systems, automation, and improving processes
