This is a role with genuine ownership, where your work will influence decision-making and help shape the next stage of growth. Based in Johannesburg, you’ll work closely with senior leadership while supporting a UK-based business.

How you’ll make an impact

• Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Deliver high-quality management accounts with meaningful variance analysis.
• Manage accounts receivable and strengthen cash collection processes.
• Oversee accounts payable controls and approval workflows.
• Review and support monthly payroll processes and related compliance.
• Produce board and leadership reporting with clear commercial insight.
• Maintain and improve forecasting, budgeting and cash flow planning.
• Support tax compliance, including VAT and external adviser relationships.
• Strengthen financial control through improved processes and automation.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to support better decision-making.

Why you’re a great fit

Essential

• Qualified accountant (CA(SA), ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong experience across month-end, reporting, payroll, AR and AP.
• Comfortable owning the finance cycle end-to-end.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial modelling.
• Confident communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience improving processes, controls and data quality.

Desirable

• Experience within a growing or fast-paced business.
• Knowledge of UK VAT, tax processes or UK entity reporting.
• Exposure to board reporting and budgeting cycles.
• Experience using finance systems, automation tools or AI to improve efficiency.
