Job Description

Finance Operations Manager

Core3 is delighted to be working with an established organisation to recruit a Finance Operations Manager. Based in Crawley with hybrid working (two days in the office each week), this permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving financial processes and making a real difference to how a finance function operates.

Why join our client

Our client is an ambitious organisation investing in its finance function and looking to improve the way its day-to-day operations run.

You'll have the opportunity to lead a team, influence how finance processes are managed and introduce practical improvements that make a measurable difference. It's a position offering responsibility, variety and the chance to contribute to wider finance change projects.

How you'll make an impact

  • Lead and develop an Accounts Payable team, creating a supportive and accountable working environment.

  • Improve payment processes to ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.

  • Strengthen financial controls around banking, approvals and supplier information.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve efficiency through automation.

  • Improve purchase ledger accuracy and resolve recurring processing issues.

  • Oversee supplier reconciliations and support a smooth month-end close.

  • Monitor payment requirements and contribute to short-term cash flow forecasting.

  • Use performance reporting to identify bottlenecks and improve team effectiveness.

  • Work with colleagues across the business to improve purchasing and invoice approval processes.

  • Support finance systems improvements, testing and the introduction of more effective ways of working.

Why you're a great fit

You'll have a strong background in Accounts Payable or transactional finance management, with experience leading people and improving financial processes.

We're looking for someone who understands the importance of getting the basics right while recognising opportunities to make finance operations more efficient.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable or transactional finance team.

  • Strong knowledge of payment processes, supplier reconciliations and financial controls.

  • Experience improving finance operations and introducing process changes.

  • Confidence managing banking administration and payment approvals.

  • A good understanding of month-end processes and purchase ledger accounting.

  • Experience working with finance systems and supporting automation projects.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use reporting to improve performance.

  • The confidence to work with stakeholders and challenge inefficient processes.

  • A practical, organised approach to problem-solving and managing priorities.

Experience supporting ERP implementations or working within a larger finance function would be useful. A finance qualification is welcomed, but relevant experience is equally important.

What you'll get in return

As Finance Operations Manager, you'll have the opportunity to shape a key area of finance, develop a team and contribute to meaningful improvements across the business.

  • £55,000–£65,000 salary

  • 20% bonus

  • Crawley location

  • Hybrid working, two days in the office and three days from home

  • Permanent, full-time position

  • Responsibility for leading and developing an established finance team

  • Opportunity to improve financial controls and operational performance

  • Involvement in finance systems and automation projects

  • Exposure to senior finance stakeholders
