Job Description
Finance Operations Lead
Core3 is delighted to be working with an established organisation to recruit a Finance Operations Lead. Based in Bristol with mostly remote working, this permanent opportunity would suit an experienced finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of day-to-day finance operations, maintaining accurate financial records and improving processes.
Why join our client
Our client offers a collaborative working environment where your experience and judgement will be valued.
You'll have responsibility across several areas of finance, rather than being limited to one part of the accounting process. Working with colleagues in different locations, you'll help maintain strong financial controls and ensure finance operations run smoothly.
How you'll make an impact
- Take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, ensuring transactions are accurate and completed on time.
- Manage supplier payments, purchase ledger and sales ledger activities.
- Maintain accurate bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Support month-end close through journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Monitor banking activity and contribute to cash flow reporting.
- Coordinate intercompany transactions and support multi-currency accounting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support audit requirements and help strengthen financial controls.
- Identify practical opportunities to improve processes and reduce errors.
Why you're a great fit
You'll have broad experience in finance operations or transactional accounting, with the confidence to manage your own workload and resolve problems independently.
We're particularly interested in someone who has worked across several areas of finance and enjoys combining hands-on accounting with responsibility for keeping processes running effectively.
You'll bring:
- AAT qualification or equivalent practical accounting experience.
- Strong double-entry bookkeeping knowledge.
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier payments.
- Confidence preparing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end accounting and journal processing.
- Good Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems.
- An organised, accurate approach and the ability to investigate discrepancies.
- Confidence communicating with colleagues across different teams.
Experience with NetSuite, international accounting or intercompany transactions would be particularly useful.
You don't need previous people management experience. What matters is your ability to take ownership, work independently and bring sound judgement to everyday finance operations.
What you'll get in return
As Finance Operations Lead, you'll have the flexibility to work remotely while taking responsibility for a varied and important area of finance.
- £40,000–£50,000 salary
- Bristol-based with mostly remote working
- Permanent position
- Broad responsibility across finance operations and accounting
- Exposure to international finance activities
- Opportunity to improve financial processes and controls
- Collaboration with an experienced finance team
- Scope to develop your technical skills and take on greater responsibility
