How you’ll make an impact
The Bookkeeper will play a key role in supporting the finance team with accounting and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, payments, and send remittance.
- Bookkeeping duties, including managing direct debits and standing orders.
- Process and pay employee expenses in line with company policy.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, following up with suppliers as needed.
- Assist with monthly bank and trade reconciliations, investigating discrepancies.
- Support payroll processing.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with internal policies.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in responses for the annual audit.
- Support VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team.
- Work on ad-hoc projects as required by the finance department and Directors.
- Manage company cash flow requirements, ensuring sufficient funds for trading activities.

- You are familiar with accounting software (ideally Hubdoc and Xero, or similar).

- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are highly organised and can manage multiple tasks effectively.
- You can work independently and maintain confidentiality in financial matters.
- You are happy to be office-based.
Desirable Skills:
- Degree educated.
- Familiarity with budgeting, financial forecasting, and management reports.
- AAT or equivalent accounting qualification.
