Job Description
Working Capital Supervisor
Core3 are delighted to partner with a private equity backed, international business to recruit a Working Capital Supervisor opportunity. Eastbourne with flexibility, salary up to £35,000 plus benefits.
Why join our client?
This is a fast paced, growing, international business with a lean finance function and clear expectations around delivery. The culture is collaborative and supportive, but with high standards and tight deadlines. If you enjoy a role where you can take ownership, keep controls tight, and improve how things run, this is a great move.
They have invested heavily in systems and automation, and they want someone who can help the working capital team stay on track and continuously improve.
How you’ll make an impact
This is not a “do the processing” role. The working capital team do the day to day AP and AR work. This role is the day-to-day support and escalation point, ensuring deadlines are met, issues are resolved quickly, and the close is delivered cleanly.
You’ll play a key part in month end, taking ownership of the close down and providing final review and sign off across reconciliations and journals.
Key responsibilities include
-
AP support and oversight: supporting the AP process from a supervisory perspective, ensuring deadlines are met, paperwork is in place, and issues are resolved (not doing the AP processing)
-
AR oversight: supporting the team with queries and escalations, ensuring the AR close is delivered on time (no cash allocation or bank matching in this role)
-
Month end close down across AP, AR, cash and banking, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and control
-
Final review and sign off of bank reconciliations (high volume across multiple entities) and supporting reconciliations
-
Posting and reviewing journals and ensuring supporting documentation is audit ready
-
Maintaining strong cash management and banking controls, including oversight of bank platforms and statement processes
-
Working to strict group close deadlines, with a strong focus on delivery by the first few working days of the month
-
Supporting continuous improvement and automation, bringing ideas to improve processes within the working capital function
-
Supporting the wider team day to day, with scope to grow into line management responsibility over time (depending on capability and fit)
Why our client is excited about you
Our client is looking for someone who has done a similar role in a similar environment and can bring calm control to a busy, deadline driven working capital function.
-
Experience in a working capital function covering AP and AR oversight, ideally within a medium to large multi-entity environment
-
Clear evidence of journals and reconciliations, including review/sign off responsibility
-
Strong understanding of month end close and what “good” looks like in a controlled close down
-
Sage experience is beneficial, and Sage Intacct is a nice to have, but strong systems experience in general is fine
-
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes and multiple entities
-
A proactive, delivery focused mindset. You enjoy supporting a team, removing blockers, and improving how things run
-
Qualification wise, the initial steer was AAT Level 4, but they are open to qualified by experience or other routes if the experience is right
What you’ll get in return
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the operational cash and controls side of finance and wants a role with ownership in a growing business. Benefits include:
-
Salary up to £35,000
-
25 days holiday plus bank holidays
-
Private healthcare
-
Life insurance
-
Equity incentive scheme (subject to eligibility)
We invite applications from all candidates who believe they meet the requirements of the role, whilst supporting and promoting equality and diversity to create an inclusive working environment for all.
