We’re supporting a purpose-led organisation seeking a capable Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. This role is based near Bristol and offers a strong platform to build solid foundations in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and month-end. How you’ll make an impact

Lead the day-to-day Accounts Payable process to keep suppliers paid accurately and on time.

Manage an AI invoice automation tool, training and refining it to streamline processing.

Maintain accurate AP ledgers, resolve supplier queries and complete weekly payment runs.

Prepare and complete bank reconciliations as part of core financial control.

Support Accounts Receivable through raising sales invoices, credits and managing a varied B2B customer base.

Help strengthen AR processes as new terms and contracts roll out.

Assist with month-end close including balance sheet reconciliations and basic account analysis.

Keep weekly cashflow forecasts updated from an AP perspective.

Contribute ideas to simplify, automate and improve AP and AR workflows.
Finance keywords included: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow, AP automation, financial control.
Why you’re a great fit
Essential

Experience in an accounts role with strong Accounts Payable exposure.

Comfortable handling high AP volumes and weekly payment cycles.

A working understanding of debits, credits, the P&L and balance sheet.

Confident using Excel and modern finance systems.

Curious, accurate and able to manage multiple moving parts.

Strong communicator who can collaborate with a manager based remotely.

A genuine interest in building a long-term finance career.

Able to commute to the Bristol office at least 2 days per week.
Desirable

Accounts Receivable experience, ideally B2B.

Familiarity with NetSuite or AI invoice tools (training can be provided).
