Job Description

Financial Accounting Manager

Core3 are delighted to be partnering with a leading international organisation to recruit a Financial Accounting Manager for their Bristol finance hub. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a senior leadership role within a centralised accounting function that supports multiple regions across the globe.

Why join our client?

You will join a sophisticated finance environment that operates at scale across multiple continents. The business is investing in its global finance operations, with a strong focus on consistency, automation, quality, and process improvement.

This is a key leadership role within a high-performing team responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, overseeing shared services output, and strengthening global accounting standards.

How you’ll make an impact

As Financial Accounting Manager, you will oversee month-end and period-end processes, manage a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial outputs across multiple regions. You will also be responsible for performance oversight of offshore teams, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the review of month-end results and financial outputs prepared by shared service and offshore teams
  • Approving complex or high-value journals and ensuring robust financial controls
  • Supporting Financial Control with audit requirements and technical accounting queries
  • Overseeing the effective operation of central Record to Report and Asset to Record processes
  • Managing the relationship with the outsourced accounting provider, handling escalations and supporting service improvement
  • Ensuring capacity planning is in place and resources are aligned to workload needs
  • Monitoring quality, compliance, and timeliness of offshore output, providing coaching and feedback where needed
  • Collaborating with senior finance leadership to help define global accounting strategy and service standards
  • Acting as a point of escalation for accounting issues raised across finance and non-finance teams
  • Identifying risks, driving resolutions, and escalating as appropriate
  • Supporting ongoing transformation initiatives, including process redesign and technology enhancements

Why our client is excited about you

You are a qualified accountant with a strong technical foundation and experience working in a complex, multinational environment. You understand how to lead teams, manage performance, and drive high standards in a shared service or centralised accounting function.

You will also bring:

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and the ability to apply technical standards to monthly processes
  • Experience managing accounting teams within large organisations or shared service environments
  • Proven ability to challenge, refine and execute core accounting processes
  • A track record of leading, motivating, and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Workday
  • Strong understanding of modern finance transformation trends, automation, and process optimisation
  • Full accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

What you’ll get in return

  • Competitive salary depending on experience
  • Hybrid working with three days per week typically in the Bristol office
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Access to global career development opportunities
  • A supportive and collaborative leadership team
  • The chance to contribute to global accounting excellence in a highly respected organisation
